Did I mention that it was also muggy? You have several hundred people in a room. I could also hear his vocals but the backup singer vocal were drowned out by.wait for it.THE BASS!! Piano was drowned out as well. I could definitely hear and FEEL the bass, REALLY, REALLY LOUD! Sorry I'm using caps but it's about 10 hours after the concert as I write this review and my ears are still ringing. Get it right and the band sounds great, get it wrong and it's just loud annoying. The goal was to be able to hear all the instruments and vocals throughout the room. Mostly, hauling equipment in and out, setting up mics, sound checks and assisting the guy doing the mix. Many years ago I briefly did some local work for several bar bands. I feel as though I have been to a Spinal Tap concert where all the amps were cranked up to eleven.cause it's one louder than ten. It's a small venue so even nose bleed seats are okay. To be fair, our seats were upper level and as far back as you can be. To put it mildly, the sound system was horrible. He always puts on a very entertaining show and this review in no way is a reflection on Michael McDonald. We have seen him at various venues over the years including Pine Knob (refuse to call it by its corporate name) and Chene Park.
